An A-list location in the heart of Mechelen
Arte Nova is an architectural gem in the heart of Mechelen. A green residential development, it is embedded in a rich historical context. The eighteen apartments and two commercial spaces on the ground floor were sold in no time at all.

Light is a key feature in Arte Nova’s design and many clients appreciated the superb courtyard garden and contemporary architecture with champagne-coloured materials. This development is another great example of Antonissen Development Group’s emphasis on quality and style. Take a look at our current or planned developments.
Respect for architectural history
Arte Nova combines respect for Mechelen’s wonderful architectural heritage with a contemporary design, champagne-coloured materials, harmony and light being its key features. The blue accent adds visual interest. The green residential development has 18 apartments and two commercial spaces on the ground floor. Its selling point? The 2 penthouses, including one with an XL terrace, have unbeatable panoramic views of the city.
Luxurious apartments with windows on both sides
Every residential unit has its own layout, with a luxurious finish, smart living, two bathrooms and a spacious terrace which can double as another room. All the apartments have windows on either side, drawing in daylight and ensuring you can make the most of the morning and evening sun. Once you have had a taste of Arte Nova, you will never want to leave.
Green everywhere you look
A 750-sqm courtyard garden! It’s not often you get this lucky in an apartment building. By day, this green oasis is open to the public while, at night, the lush garden can only be accessed by Arte Nova’s residents. Do you have green fingers? You will be happy to know that Arte Nova has a kitchen garden and greenhouses on its 475-sqm rooftop.
Because of Arte Nova’s prominent location in Mechelen, we have opted for a sustainable design with spacious units. The building blends in beautifully with its historical surroundings thanks to well-thought-out details and a clever use of materials. Arte Nova’s high-quality housing reinforces the urban fabric.
Friends told me about Antonissen Development Group and that is how I found out about some of their developments. I now own an apartment in Zurenborgpoort, which I bought for my children. My contacts with the Antonissen team were transparent and good every step of the way. I also liked that they sent me regular updates about the progress of the works. They even took photos to document the evolution of our apartment and the building.

Get to your destination in minutes
When it comes to location, Mechelen outclasses them all. Here, public transport literally stops on your doorstep, taking you to Antwerp or Brussels in under 20 minutes. Mechelen also aspires to be the cycling city of Flanders, which is why the architects added a spacious bike storage facility. Don’t worry, there’s also parking for your car. The car lift takes you from the street level to your underground parking space. Nice to know: there is also a shared car in the building’s car park.
Past and present
Past and future, city and greenery. Somehow Mechelen succeeds in reconciling them all. Trendy restaurants, a vibrant shopping district, plenty of nature areas to unwind, and a city with a rich history... This is a human-sized city. There is lots to see in the historic city centre, where the cosy streets are lined with many an architectural gem. Tip: why don’t you walk up Saint Rumbold’s Tower and enjoy the amazing panoramic views of the city and surrounding region?
A future-proof Mechelen
A cohort of young entrepreneurs is increasingly positioning Mechelen as an ambitious pioneering city. By 2030, the city hopes to have reduced CO2 emissions by 40 per cent. The city’s policy-makers have already made green urban renewal a priority with parks, green space and fun places to unwind across the city. Developments like the Ragheno site and the Keerdok site already give a hint as to the future of Mechelen, with inspiring spaces for living, working, relaxing and meeting. Just like Arte Nova.
Something for everyone
Mechelen really caters to sports fans. Feel like a run around Mechels Broek? Want to swim a few lengths in Nekkerpool? How about increasing your heart rate at one of the many sports and fitness clubs in the city? Your choice! If you’re looking for some gentler exercise, take a walk around Vrijbroekpark or Tivolipark. The city is also very family-friendly, catering to young residents with Planckendael, De Nekker, Technopolis and the Toy Museum.
Culinary treats
If you love good food, you will love Mechelen. Current hotspots include foodsharing concepts like Unwined and the Wilde Eetbar in the Wagenoord coworking space. Looking for a more high-end experience? Book a table at M-eatery, Tinelle or Cosmo. All three restaurants are listed in the Michelin guide. Alternatively, you can also check out the Vleeshalle, where inspiring entrepreneurs dish up all kinds of culinary treats. The building also has an amazing rooftop terrace.
