O'rizon
Breathtaking landscapes and cultural-historical highlights: vibrant Aarschot has it all and so much more. And soon a unique development will be added to this already impressive line-up on a green hill that is just a stone's throw from Grote Markt. Here, O’rizon makes your housing dreams come true. A sustainable living environment with the city centre at your feet – life in God’s country, aka the Hageland.
Spectacular panoramic views
Tranquillity and space. This is the main premise of O’rizon’s balanced design. Three airy building volumes shift the focus to the hilly landscape. The site’s highest point lies six metres above the street level of Tiensestraat and 13 metres higher than Nieuwstraat. From your apartment, you have a unique view of the beautiful Hageland countryside.
Bright corner apartments
Starting your day with a coffee in the morning sun and ending it with a glass of wine in the evening sun? At O’rizon you can, because all the apartments in this development are corner flats with a double orientation. They all have a spacious indoor terrace, your private little oasis where you can always enjoy the calm. The living space gives out onto the terrace, drawing in plenty of light.
O’rizon has 76 one, two or three-bedroom apartments
Park living
Green space may sometimes seem scarce in the city, but not if you’re living in O’rizon. The rolling relief and expansive grounds create a vast sense of space. Wildflowers and shrubs separate the private gardens from the communal garden, which is gracefully framed by trees. It’s like living in a park!
Passive building with state-of-the-art sustainable technology
Rising energy prices and global warming mean sustainability has never been more of a priority. O’rizon is future-proof! With an E-level score of 20, these NZE/BEN apartments are more efficient than the current standard of E30. As a developer, we are taking the next step in our vision of what a passive building should be. And you reap the fruits of this as an owner in O’rizon, as you qualify for a five-year exemption from property taxes.
O'rizon is a completely gas-free residential development. The energy for hot water and heating is sourced from a geothermal heat pump.
Thanks to our collaboration with an Esco*, you can also be sure that the system stays in perfect working order for the next 20 years.
Solar panels, green roofs, low-temperature underfloor heating, type D ventilation, etc. are just some of the many other features that guarantee a comfortable living environment and help reduce your energy bills.
Smart home automation
Setting the ideal light intensity and perfect temperature? All apartments in O’rizon are fitted with a home automation system which you can use to control your home quickly and efficiently. Individual doorbells can also be easily controlled with the system. If you want to go a step further, you can add more circuits and expand the system with an alarm and/or music system. You can also easily operate the home automation system from your smartphone or tablet, allowing you to adjust your home comfort remotely.
Hassle-free parking
O’rizon is synonymous with a quiet, safe place to live. Cars are rare, as above-ground car traffic is banned from the site. You can easily access the 99 parking spaces for cars from the entrance in Tiensestraat. There are two parking spaces for shared cars at the entrance in Nieuwstraat. Cyclists will be happy to know there are 252 underground bicycle parking spaces and 24 above-ground bicycle parking spaces for visitors.
The architects deliberately opted for a balanced design that exudes tranquillity to enhance the green courtyard. The level of detailing is high and the material palette soft and qualitative. The neutral shades of the skirting, cornices and eaves blend seamlessly with the soft greige hue of the façade and light-coloured joinery. The choice of materials extends into the interior, with entrance halls featuring a similar high-quality finish.
Meeting places
Thanks to the interconnections between the three building volumes, there are lots of pleasant meeting places, both inside and outside. The benches in the covered entrance of each building invite you to take a break. Once inside the building, the central hall with its open spiral staircase feels welcoming, thanks to the sense of space and light. The spacious halls on each floor have the same open atmosphere.
There is space for several multi-purpose rooms on the ground floor of each of the three buildings. An ironing service, a yoga studio or a small party venue for residents? The final purpose of each of these spaces has yet to be determined, but they will undoubtedly make your life even more comfortable

The pearl in the crown of the Hageland
Aarschot and the Demer Valley form the border of the Kempen region and the beautiful Flemish Hageland. This vibrant city in the province of Flemish Brabant offers a surprising blend of sights, culture and nature. This also explains how it got its nickname, ‘the Pearl in the Crown of the Hageland’. A city full of opportunities, where you can make the most of life.
A great city for culture
Century-old city ramparts and magnificent monuments... The cobbled streets of Aarschot are oozing with history. Every season, the cultural centre on the Gasthuis site puts together a captivating programme with theatre, music, dance, comedy, film, exhibitions, workshops and so much more. After the performance, you can head to one of many great pubs with your friends for a lively discussion over a tasty Aarschotse Bruine beer or a coffee.
In summer, the city switches up a gear with a wonderful summer programme of music, sports and games.
