A new impetus for the district

The 39 homes in our 'Coeur d’Îlot' development are all situated in the centre of Arlon. The development is part of the block of houses formed by rue de Neufchâteau and rue Seyler, and is situated opposite square Astrid and place Schalbert. The purpose of this development? To give a derelict plot of land a new use and develop a neighbourhood at the entrance to the city. Moreover, the project does not only entail the construction of a residential development. A new square will also be built opposite the shops.

A bit of history

On the site at the corner of rue de Neufchâteau and rue Seyler, there used to be a building that many inhabitants of Arlon frequented at some point in time. Originally home to a teachers’ college for girls until 1926, it was later used as housing for the families of gendarmes. By the end of the 1960s, the building was vacant. It fell into disrepair and was eventually demolished. The plot lay fallow for thirty years, but is now being given a new purpose, thanks to the construction of our ‘Coeur d'Îlot’ development

Respect for Arlon’s architecture

In order not to stand out from the neighbouring buildings, the ‘Coeur d'Îlot’ development is made up of modest, detached volumes with off-white plaster, a colour that contrasts with the dark mouldings of the large, vertical window frames. However, the mimicry of the building environment does not detract from the development’s contemporary look and feel. A few modern features create a surprise effect, adding a poetic touch that breaks through the regularity and monotony.

Bright and luminous homes

The studios and apartments in 'Coeur d’Îlot' all have wide windows that draw in a lot of light. Most apartments have a perpendicular positioning, with a south-facing terrace. Other ground-floor apartments even have private gardens. All the apartments have been equipped with home automation and comply with current EPB building standards.

Practical living

The 39 residential units that make up the “Coeur d'Îlot” residence can be accessed via five separate entrance halls with a lift, and each unit has its own storage space in the cellar or attic. The parking garage on the first and second underground floors provides 59 parking spaces for residents. A bike shed with space for 20 bicycles can be accessed from rue Seyler and the private gardens.

"Friends told me about Antonissen Development Group and that is how I found out about some of their developments. I now own an apartment in Zurenborgpoort, which I bought for my children. My contacts with the Antonissen team were transparent and good every step of the way. I also liked that they sent me regular updates about the progress of the works. They even took photos to document the evolution of our apartment and the building.”
